A skilled artist and writer, Joanna was a highly respected Art Reviewer for The Maui News. She not only knows art, she knows what's important about art and how to get people interested in it. Immersed in the art and cultural community of Hawaii for 15 years, she has a megawealth of contacts from the humblest shack, to the towers of power.

A university lecturer and convention speaker(New Line Presentations) for 12 years, she knows how to work an audience and keep it's attention.

Dubbed "A Motivational Dynamo" she knows how to sell an idea and get people involved.

A lifetime of researching, teaching, and utilizing communications skills, combined with her genuine love and interest in people, enables Joanna to see the extraordinary stories in ordinary people and get them to tell it.

Kevin Harrington handles all below-the-line responsibilities - Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Editor, Producer, and Graphic Designer. Contact Kevin.

One of Maui's most respected camera operators for 15 years, Kevin is known for his great shots. Lighting, time of day, angles, composition are all second nature to him. Intimately familiar with all the moods and elements of Hawaii, he consistently captures the perfect moment.

Kevin has been on literally hundreds of corporate video shoots, television features, and live sporting events in his 15 years on Maui and has developed incredible timing. He knows where the shot is going to be and moves fast, never missing a beat.

He is also a freelance Editor/Producer and understands the importance of time and budget elements and consistently brings projects in on time and within budget.

Strategies
Our basic approach for ArtScapes is to let the artists tell their own stories and supplement the dialogue with music, captivating photography and an insightful script. The show is produced in segments, TV magazine-style, and each feature a coherent whole yet related to the overall theme of the show.

This is the Pilot show and had its first air date in May, 2000 on PBS during "sweeps week". This is what the program director had to say about the show:
