Catalog Spreadsheet
Three Spreadsheets
If you're here, this means you have been instructed by our staff to begin creating your catalog with a spreadsheet. Based on your needs, you may already have received one of the following spreadsheets from them:
  1. Simple
  2. Simple with Options
  3. Full
The purpose of this section of the tutorial is to help you determine which spreadsheet would most suit your needs, so if you have already been given a spreadsheet and you know what spreadsheet you have, you may continue to the next section of this tutorial now. If you received one, but you don't know which one you received, you can generally find out by looking at cell 1A when you open the sample spreadsheet in your spreadsheet application.

Simple Spreadsheet

The simple spreadsheet is appropriately named. It is by far the easiest to fill out because it has only the fields that are absolutely necessary for all products in your catalog. It contains the following fields, which you are required to fill in for every product you want to add to your catalog:
  • Category
  • Stock #
  • Product Title
  • Left Picture
  • Long Description
  • Price
If these are the only fields that you think you will be needing, download the Simple Catalog Spreadsheet and open it with your spreadsheet editor (Excel, OpenOffice, etc...). You may now proceed to the next section.

Simple with Options

The "Simple with Options" spreadsheet includes everything from the simple spreadsheet, with some additional fields for adding options to your products. If you don't know what product options are, you may want to take a quick peek ahead at Section 3: Product Options. You should be able to read the first few paragraphs to determine if this is something you want.

This spreadsheet includes the following fields of information:
  • Category
  • Stock #
  • Price
  • Product Title
  • Left Picture
  • Long Description
  • Option Name
  • Option Description
  • Option Values
  • Price Adjustment
If you feel that this is the right spreadsheet for you, download the "Simple with Options" Spreadsheet and open it with your spreadsheet editor (Excel, OpenOffice, etc...). You may now proceed to the next section.

Full Spreadsheet

If neither of the previous spreadsheets meet your needs, you may want to try the full spreadsheet. Note, however, that the full spreadsheet is much harder to fill out than the others. Many of the fields in the spreadsheet may be a bit confusing. If you do get confused, however, feel free to contact technical support and we will answer any questions you may have.
