Automated Creation of Users and Passwords
Section 5 - How the Form Works

Now that we have this form built let me explain how it works.

The user completes the form and hits the submit button.  If any of the required fields are empty, they will see a page indicating the information that is missing.  They must return to complete this information before proceeding.

Then the user is taken to a page where they complete the payment method and information.  Once the submit button is clicked, the following processes occur.

  • First, the User ID is checked to see if that ID has previously been selected.  If it has, the user will see a page indicating that they must select another user ID and password.
  • Next, the payment information is submitted to the payment processor for authorization.
  • Once payment authorization is received back from the payment processor, the User ID is created with the selected password, with all the necessary permissions to access the specified folder.
  • Two emails are sent to the person submitting the form.  One email contains the message you specified when setting up the Form Block. The second email confirms the User ID and password and provides the link to the page specified in the Hidden Field.
  • Two more emails are sent to address specified in the first field when the Form Block was first set up.  The first email contains the information specified in the Form Block including the User Name and Password that was selected.  The second email specifies information that will be helpful if you have mutiple forms on your web site.
  • Finally is the customer is displayed the page specified in the Hidden Field.  The system automatically logged them in.  They will not have to log in again until they have closed their browser session.  After that, they will have to enter their user ID and password to access that page.

If you want to see how this will work, click here to be taken to a functioning form. (This is the same form specified in the link on the left.)
